Following the controversy over NBC correspondent Richard Engel’s kidnapping and allegations that opposition forces concocted a fake plot to win over Western sympathies , along with the Syrian regime’s insistence that all opposition fighters are “terrorists”, many analysts have declared the Syrian civil war a war of propaganda as much as one of arms.
