A recent air strike against the Scud missile base at Faj Attan outside of the Yemeni capital Sanaa reverberated into the surrounding neighbourhood, leaving a trail of damage.

The explosion injured people inside their homes, while cars in queues at petrol stations, about 4km away from the base, were completely destroyed.

The base is under the control of pro-Houthi Yemeni army units. It has been targeted several times by air strikes since the start of the Saudi-led bombing campaign, which has attempted to halt the expansion of the Houthi rebels throughout the country.
