Moldova region seeks closer ties with Russia

Gagauzia voted in February to increase trade ties with Russia and many of its residents see a future away from the EU.

    There are fears in Moldova that the autonomous Gagauzia region will seek to repeat Crimea's example by joining Russia.

    The impoverished region voted in February to increase trade ties with Russia and Al Jazeera spoke to labourers who say they see a better economic future away from Europe.
