Italy’s Interior Minister Angelino Alfano is facing a vote of confidence after it emerged a Kazakh citizen may have been illegally deported.
Alma Shalabayeva was sent back to Kazakhstan along with her young daughter. Her tycoon husband is on the run over one of the biggest fraud cases in banking history.
Many Italians say the police should not have deported his wife to a country with a poor human-rights record.
