Beijing funds strategic investments overseas

China's investments in infrastructure projects abroad aim to keep the economy humming back home. 

    China is expanding its influence by undertaking a number of large infrastructure projects around the world.
     
    This is part of the country's strategy to gain access to the natural resources it needs to help sustain its own rapid growth.
