US dismisses criticism on Iraq insurgency

US says it is in touch with tribal leaders in Anbar and will provide advice and missiles but not boots on the ground.

    Bombings, shooting and attacks in Iraq have increased since US troops flew home two years ago.

    But the White House denies the US withdrawal has allowed America's enemies to flourish.
