Jordan taking giant strides in women’s football

Jordan narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2015 Women’s World Cup but will be hosting an U17 event next year.

No team from the Middle East has ever qualified for the Women’s World Cup.

Jordan narrowly missed out on this year’s tournament although they’re perhaps the best placed for a future in the top flight.

It’s women’s football team may only be a decade old but it has become the strongest in the region.

However, Jordan is a socially and religiously conservative country and many believe football is not an appropriate sport for females.
