Qatar is not known for its cricket – be it hosting or participating.
But with a cricket-starved population, the State is now looking to bring the sport to the region and hold major events.
Doha recently held two women’s cricket events – the ODI tournament won by South Africa with Pakistan taking the T20 honours – and the plans don’t stop there.
