Robben Island’s football legacy

Andy Richardson reports on South Africa’s most unlikely football league.

In the excitement of next year’s World Cup, South Africa has been remembering its all too recent past.

The infamous Robben Island jail held more than 3000 political prisoners during apartheid – the most famous of all was Nelson Mandela.

But the prison was also home to an unlikely football league, as Al Jazeera’s Andy Richardson reports.
