WWE heads to New York: Fans flock to WrestleMania 35

Pro wrestling is staged entertainment, yet many followers take it as seriously as mainstream sports.

    Few sports will generate as much hype as WWE WrestleMania, with its 35th annual event scheduled in New York on Sunday.

    Many say it is not a proper sport, but WWE has more than a billion social media followers and - despite being scripted - the fans take it very seriously.

    Wrestling lovers have reached New York from across the world to be part of the action, which broadcasts in over 180 countries.
