Two policemen killed in Bahrain ‘terrorist attack’
Interior ministry says eight other officers were injured in attack in Sitra village.

Two policemen have been killed in Bahrain after they were targeted in a “terrorist attack”, the interior ministry said.
In a statement posted on Twitter on Tuesday morning, the ministry said eight other policemen were injured, three of them seriously, in the attack in Sitra, a village on an island south of the capital, Manama.
The authorities did not specify the nature of the attack nor did they assign responsibility to any group.

Shia-dominated Sitra island is the scene of frequent clashes between security forces and demonstrators.
The attack comes just days after the Sunni-ruled kingdom announced it had foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons from rival Iran.
