Quarter of Yemenis suffer from hunger
Progress to tackle the problem in one of the world’s poorest countries has been slow amid political instability.

The number of people in the world suffering from hunger is falling, according to the latest research from three UN food agencies.
Despite the fall, between 2012 and 2014, around 805 million people were chronically undernourished.
Progress to cut hunger is particularly slow in Yemen, one of the world’s poorest countries, where one quarter of the population does not have enough food.
The current political instability is making the situation worse.
