Muslims and Catholics in cathedral dispute

Spain’s Roman Catholic church has applied for exclusive ownership of the former mosque, now the Cordoba Cathedral.

One of Spain’s most important historical sites is caught in a dispute over its Christian and Muslim past.
The Cordoba Cathedral was once a mosque, but the Roman Catholic church wants exclusive ownership of the site. The city’s Muslims say it would be a rewrite of their shared history.
