US urges Egypt to free Al Jazeera staff
White House says administration watching closely trial of Al Jazeera staff and called for press freedom.

There is increasing diplomatic pressure on Egypt from the US. The White House is showing its support for Al Jazeera’s detained journalists by continuing to call for their release.
