A car-bomb attack on police in Afghanistan’s Helmand province has killed three policemen and wounded three others, local officials say.
Friday’s raid on a police checkpoint in Nawzad district was just one of three attacks in three different provinces.
At least 20 people were injured after a bomb exploded in a mosque in the northeastern Nangarhar province, officials said.
Afghanistan’s deputy interior minister told Al Jazeera that an improvised explosive device was used in the attack inside the mosque in Khogyani district, shortly after Friday prayers.
In the third incident, three people were seriously wounded when an explosive device attached to a fruit cart went off in Mazar-e-Sharif in Balkh province.
