ETA agrees to hand over weapons

Basque separatist group says it will put some arms and explosives out of operative use.

The Basque separatist group ETA has agreed to hand over some weapons and bomb making equipment used in its campaign for independence that has claimed hundreds of lives.

An international monitoring team, set up to oversee a proclaimed ceasefire, says some arms and explosives will be put “out of operative use”.
