Swiss scientists harness solar power

Researchers say newly invented technology has unprecedented efficiency in converting sunlight to electricity.

Researchers in Switzerland say they they have found a far more efficient way of using solar power than ever achieved before.

The new system is capable of converting almost half the sunlight they absorb into electricity, which is vastly more than what current solar technologies provide.

Their advanced solar technology could deliver electricity and fresh water to remote locations.
