Americans protest against fracking
Industrial process to extract underground gas is criticised by activists for being dangerous for environment.

Protesters in the US capital, Washington, have gathered outside the White House to voice their anger against the industrial process known as fracking.
It involves firing pressurised water and sand deep underground to tap gas stored there.
Fracking in the United States is being credited with helping the economy recover, but environmental activists say it’s too dangerous.
