UK butterflies get boost from heatwave

Wet summer and coldest spring in 50 years had reduced number of insects essential to pollination of plants.

Butterfly numbers in the United Kingdom hit a historic low following last year’s wet summer and the coldest spring in fifty years.

But now the heatwave engulfing the UK has given the insects, which are essential to the pollination of plants, a much-needed boost.
