Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, has become one of the most dangerous places in the world.
More than 2,000 people were killed in sectarian and political attacks last year in the southern port city, according to a police watchdog organisation.
Karachi’s main political parties are divided along ethnic lines, leaving it without a government for several years and leading to a dramatic rise in the violence.
