Civilians bear brunt of Syrian conflict

Government forces accused of trying to flush out “foreign-backed terrorists” in areas free of opposition fighters.

Syrian forces have continued to bombard opposition-held areas in an effort to flush out the fighters it says are “foreign-backed terrorists”.

For many Syrians, however, their towns have been the site of constant attacks despite being free of fighters.
