Somalia’s president is claiming victory after al-Shabab fighters began pulling out of the capital Mogadishu.
Officials say it is the most significant gain for the UN-backed transitional government in years.
Al-Shabab say it is a change in military tactics rather than a retreat.
Al Jazeera’s Peter Greste visited the Islamist group’s former headquarters in Mogadishu.
