Guatemala comes to terms with family planning
A local non-profit group hopes that education will help locals plan their families’ futures better.

Guatemala has the highest birth rate in Latin America and the effects of its growth are clear: the country vaunts one of the highest rates for both infant and maternal mortality on the continent as well as the fourth-highest incidence of chronic childhood malnutrition in the world.
Now, a local non-profit group says that re-educating the population about family planning is the answer to rising numbers and related problems of poverty, poor health and illiteracy.
