China”s rise to becoming a global superpower has led to much debate about how the country is exercising its dominance.

Chinese youth are debating whether or not this power is a force for good. While China”s younger generation is enjoying life in a way their parents would have never dreamt, their euphoria is qualified, by a sense of duty.

For some, this is expressed in pride and patriotism. Others are more sceptical of their leaders, raising their voices through the medium of a dynamic youth counterculture.
