Brazil steps up anti-gang operation

Military armoured vehicles enter Rio de Janeiro as security forces seek to expel drug gangs.

Brazil has sent military armoured vehicles into a shantytown in Rio de Janeiro where police are engaged in a deadly standoff with drug gangs. 

More than 23 people have been killed in five days of fighting as police try to expel gangs from dozens of slums.
