Judges in London’s High Court have been told that British troops systematically carried out torture and inhumane treatment on Iraqi prisoners. The claims of 222 Iraqis were heard on Friday, with their lawyers demanding a full inquiry.
The UK’s ministry of defence has, however, refused to carry out any further investigation into claims that abuse was carried out as a matter of policy.
