Millions of football fans across the Middle East and North Africa were unable to watch the first World Cup match between South Africa and Mexico broadcast exclusively on Al Jazeera Sport.

The coverage was badly disrupted amid claims of sabotage.

Nilesat, the Egyptian satellite company which was hosting Al Jazeera’s broadcast, has said it is investigating how the signal was jammed.

Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford reports.
