Modernity threatens Indonesia’s Baduy tribe
The Baduy tribe live without electricity, cars or modern communication, but are now calling for government protection.

Only a few hours from Indonesia’s capital Jakarta, the Baduy tribe have managed to live a life without electricity, cars or any forms of modern communication.
While government laws protect them from mining or timber companies destroying their land, the Baduy say their culture also needs protection.
Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen reports from Lebak.
