Myanmar readies for mobile revolution

Government loosens monopoly and plans to make mobile phones widely available but stiff challenges lie ahead.

Myanmar is heading towards a technology revolution.

As the government loosens a monopoly on the telecoms industry, it is hoped the number of people owning a mobile phone, currently less than 10 percent, will grow.

But with the country having possibly the worst telecommunications infrastructure in the world, it will not be easy.
