Crime is no deal-breaker for businesses bullish on Mexico’s location and low labour costs.

Japanese automaker Nissan recently announced it will pour $2bn dollars into Mexico, with the country’s grisly crime rate failing to deter additional major investments.

Honda is also investing in Mexico, as are soft-drink giants Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.

The Mexican economy has provided good news for a country that has endured a barrage of negative headlines in recent years.
