Pakistan and India in trade talks

Trade talks could see signing of agreement with Pakistan calling India a “most favoured nation” to do business with.

Pakistan India trade agreement

Zafar Mehmood, Pakistan’s commerce secretary, is in New Delhi, the Indian capital, for trade talks with Rahul Khullar, his Indian counterpart.

The talks could culminate in the signing of a trade agreement which sees Pakistan calling India one of its “most favoured nation’s” to trade with – a deal which would mark a major breakthrough in relations between the traditionally antagonistic neighbours.

But there are mixed feelings about the agreement among business people in Pakistan’s textile and other industrial communities.
