The Arab Spring and political turmoil in the West will dominate the 62nd Berlin film festival.

About 400 films will be premiered in 20 cinemas in what has been called Europe’s most user-friendly movie festival, with seminars and debates, usually happening in English.

Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman are among those due to present new films at the first major European festival of the year.
