Argentina holds historic death flights trial

Pilots of the 1976-1983 military dictatorship face trial for suspected human rights abuses.

A trial involving 800 cases of suspected human rights abuses during Argentina's military dictatorship is set to begin.

Some 5,000 political prisoners were held and tortured at a naval mechanics school 30 years ago, many of whom were taken on so-called death flights, where they were thrown out of planes at high altitudes.

Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports from Buenos Aires.
