The impact of the ongoing dry weather in Portugal, Spain, France and England

Drought continues to affect many parts of Western Europe. Forest fires have resulted from the tinder-dry conditions across northern parts of Spain and Portugal and recent rain here may only give a temporary reprieve.
French farmers are turning to irrigation to prevent crop failure, whilst in the United Kingdom hosepipe bans are spreading across England and Wales in an attempt to reduce water consumption.
