US crime: Increase in violence across several cities

Most of the violence happens in predominantly Black neighbourhoods across the US.

In the United States, the rate of street crimes is usually high during the summer.

But this year, it has been much worse, with hundreds killed or injured.

Some say there are fewer officers because of the pandemic.

Others blame extra deployments to protests over the killing of George Floyd.
