Thailand: Activists worried as historical buildings altered

The disappearing symbols of democracy in Thailand lead to concerns that the government is trying to wipe out history.

Reminders of Thailand’s democratic history are vanishing, as monuments and historical buildings are taken down, altered or renamed.

Pro-democracy activists used Wednesday’s anniversary of the 1932 revolution that introduced democracy to Thailand to raise the alarm about the government’s attempt to erase history.
