Philippine zoos under lockdown

Manila Zoo is every Filipino family’s idea of a happy place, its closure has disappointed many.

Zoos under lockdown in the Philippines are using this time to care for their animals, but a great deal of uncertainty hovers around when they will be able to resume operating, and earning, as usual.

Animal activists say even if quarantine rules start being lifted by the end of this month, zoos are unlikely to be a priority for visitors.
