In Mexico, seriously ill coronavirus patients rely on nurses to keep them in touch with their families.

Even as Mexico gradually reopens, it is experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases. The worst ones end up in intensive care units, where the recovery rate is low, and patients often have no connection to their families outside. A few nurses in one of the country’s biggest public hospitals are trying to change that.
