Macau’s ‘gambling godfather’ dies

Stanley Ho transformed the former Portuguese colony near Hong Kong into the world’s largest gambling hub.

The man, known as Macau’s “godfather of gambling”, has died at the age of 98.

Stanley Ho transformed the former Portuguese colony near Hong Kong into the world’s largest gambling hub.

Despite, or perhaps because of, making his fortune through the gaming industry, Ho always advised his family and friends against gambling.
