UK gov’t criticised for neglect of coronavirus in care homes

Critics say government failed to protect elderly in nursing centres early on.

At least 32,000 people are now confirmed to have died of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom – and care homes account for a quarter of these deaths.

The government is now promising further resources for caregivers in nursing centres by early June, after stinging criticism that it neglected its most vulnerable members of society.
