Qatar begins manufacturing ventilators amid coronavirus pandemic

Meet SAVR, Synchronous Automatic Ventilating Respirators, a ventilator manufactured in Doha. The machine is equipped with sensors to alert medical staff in case the lung functions of a coronavirus patient is deteriorating.

Hospitals around the world have found themselves short of ventilators, the machines that can ultimately save the lives of patients who suffer the worst symptoms of COVID-19.

Qatar is among the countries that are making their own as it grapples with large increases in new cases.
