New York governor wants better understanding of virus

New York, the epicentre of US coronavirus outbreak, is increasing its testing capabilities to better understand how many people have been infected and who can safely return to work.

New York is in the process of ramping up its capacity to process 40,000 coronavirus tests a day and has begun randomly approaching people outside of grocery stores this week looking for 3,000 random blood samples to check for antibodies.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says restrictions could remain in place until they know more about the virus.
