Israel general elections: Third vote in less than a year

Many analysts fear that if no one party can form a government it may be back to the polls for the fourth time.

Polls in Israel open shortly in an unprecedented third general election just under a year.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing three separate corruption cases, and his main rival Benny Gantz are running neck-and-neck.

Israeli politics remain as fractured as in the previous two elections when no party was able to form a government.
