Uruguay: Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou to be sworn in as president

President-elect promises to pass an omnibus bill that will try to address social and economic issues.

Uruguay will swear in a new centre-right leader later on Sunday.

Voters are hoping a new government led by Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou will boost the economy, cut crime, and realign its foreign policy.

Uruguay is the latest Latin American country to turn its back on left-wing rule, after being governed by the Broad Front for 15 years.
