Italy towns quarantined as coronavirus cases rise
Lockdowns affect about 50,000 people, events cancelled as third person dies from virus in country.
A third person has died of the coronavirus in Italy. The number of cases is now more than 130 – the majority of them in the northern Lombardy region.
The Italian prime minister has announced a quarantine on several towns, affecting 50,000 people. And the last few days of the Venice Carnival have been cancelled.
