Coronavirus in Canada: Containment to take months

Canada’s government offers cash payments, closes borders but homeless people will still bear brunt.

As the coronavirus pandemic spreads in Canada the government has stepped in to introduce containment measures and hand cash payments to struggling businesses and workers.

The number of those infected nationwide has grown to at least 800, with Canada’s most populous city, Toronto, having the highest concentration of the disease.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Lak reports from Toronto on how the city’s homeless people are especially affected.
