US-China trade war: New wave of tariffs take effect

From September, the first tariffs on US cherries will be raised from 50 to 60 percent.

Tensions between China and the United States keep escalating, as a new round of tariffs on both countries’ exports will come into effect in a few hours.

China says it will not back down and has raised import taxes on $75bn worth of American goods after President Donald Trump increased duties on $300bn worth of Chinese goods.
