Puerto Rico: Celebrations continue after governor’s resignation

Dancing in the streets of San Juan, celebrating what’s being called a ‘people’s revolution’. For young Puerto Ricans, who spearheaded the marches, it’s a momentous victory.

Celebrations are continuing in Puerto Rico following the resignation of Governor Ricardo Rossello.

Rossello announced he will leave office on Wednesday.

Demonstrators have for days demanded the governor step down after text messages revealed a leader who spoke poorly of his own people, and used sexist and homophobic language.
