Pakistan’s Shandur Polo Festival in gov’t $31m tourism push

The Pakistani government pledges millions to region known as ‘roof of the world’ to encourage more foreign and local visitors.

The Pakistani government has pledged tens of millions of dollars to help promote tourism in the northern areas of the country.

For years the security situation in the region made it a no-go area for tourists.

But that is changing thanks to a popular polo tournament.
