
China condemns violent actions in Hong Kong, backs Carrie Lam
If Hong Kong’s government fails to stamp out unrest, China may bring what protesters fear most – more control.
A representative from China’s Hong Kong affairs office has condemned the Hong Kong protests, and said the Chinese government in Beijing would support the Hong Kong authorities in holding those responsible to account, according to state television.
